  • The ADA celebrates 20 years

On July 26, 2010 the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) celebrated its 20th anniversary.

See our Celebrating the ADA flyer [PDF] for more information about the ADA and links to videos in our collection on the ADA.

  • “Keys to Access” Available from the DCMP

The DCMP provides training resources for new and experienced captioning vendors—the Captioning Key for Educational Media—and description vendors—the Description Key for Educational Media.

Both sets of guidelines are available from DCMP’s new “Keys to Access” section at dcmp.org/KeystoAccess.

  • We Need Your Recommendations!

    your recommendations needed

The DCMP’s media collection is built on the recommendations of the professionals and families we serve.

If you know of K–12 educational media that need to be made accessible via captioning and description, please recommend them to us. We would love to hear from you!

  • Vocabulary Builders in Sign Language

DCMP is a leader in providing access to captioned, educational media. But did you know that we also offer many resources to promote access through sign language as well? There are over 100 titles in the DCMP collection on sign language.

Don't miss this opportunity to increase your sign language skills! Learn more by viewing the Vocabulary Builders flyer [PDF]. View our vocabulary builders in the DCMP collection, on YouTube, or through iTunes U. To view the videos on iTunes you will need the iTunes program. It's a free download available here: iTunes download.

  • YouTube Ready Captioning Vendors

    "YouTube Ready" Captioning Vendors

Qualified vendors are ready to caption YouTube content. A lot of educational content is available on YouTube sites like Khan Academy. See more educational video offerings by visiting YouTube EDU. But, while content is available, little of it is captioned. When videos are not accessible, tell the producer or post a comment! Sometimes there is awareness by website operators of the need for access, but other times not. One site asks for volunteers to transcribe or caption videos.

Tell your friends about the DCMP YouTube page and its described and captioned content. DCMP members can also visit the DCMP YouTube page and easily preview DCMP videos that are available to members in their entirety at the DCMP website.

  • More Ways to Connect with the DCMP
